POSITION SUMMARY

Brian Ansari and Associates Inc. is seeking qualified Construction Inspectors for our infrastructure projects in Los Angeles.

Primary Location: United States-Los Angeles
Other Locations: We service clients throughout the United States and have offices in New York, New Jersey and Scottsdale, AZ
Industry: Construction & Alternative Delivery
Supervisory Role: No
Schedule: Full-time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The construction inspector will work on a mega-project For LA Metro representing the owner on a Construction Management/General Construction project in downtown Los Angeles in the following areas of expertise:

  • Civil/roadway
  • Bridge/Structure
  • Utility – Wet & Dry
  • Rail/Track
  • MEP
  • Landscape
  • Transit Systems
  • Building/Facilities

REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OBTAINED

10+ years performing construction inspection and management in related fields of expertise

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, and terminology of inspection and civil engineering
  • Knowledge and experience in working on LA Metro Transit projects, Caltrans District 7 Highway Projects and City of Los Angeles DOT, Public works and Water and Power projects.
  • Knowledge of surveying and construction methods, materials testing and equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurement for progress payment and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status
  • Ability to determine quality, materials, and workmanship through inspection, and to determine compliance with specifications
  • Takes a leadership role in absence of the Resident Engineer
  • Coordinates with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates
  • Desire to achieve excellence and to grow within a dynamic organization
  • Ability to work in a cooperative team environment, with significant client interface
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required, Prolog, Primavera, etc. desired
  • Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must have strong people skills and the ability to interact with the project team
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our culture is a must
  • Experience with LA Metro desired
  • Candidates who reside locally in the Los Angeles area are preferred
